Do you accept credit cards?

Yes. Blue Canary Bakery accepts multiple forms of payment including cash, Venmo transfers, and credit/debit card either at point of sale via Square or online with Wix payments. If you would like to pay online with a credit or debit card, please let us know so we can send you an invoice and make the credit/debit payment option available to you.

I don't live locally, but can I order from you to deliver to a local customer?

Yes! The laws regulating our business prevent us from shipping baked goods, but there is nothing stopping us from taking orders from people out of state and delivering to a local customer. In fact, we've done this several times! We just ask that you be clear about who the recipient is and arrange for them to be home to accept delivery during the agreed-upon window.

Do you offer gluten-free and vegan options?

Yes. Check out our menu for detailed offerings. At present, the vegan options are quite limited, but our menu is constantly evolving. Feel free to make a custom vegan or gluten-free request if you have something in mind and you don't see it on the menu.

Do you charge more for gluten-free or vegan options?

No. There is no upcharge simply for a flavor being gluten-free or vegan-friendly. Some cake flavors and dessert offerings cost more than others, but not exclusively gluten-free and vegan options. The prices are reflected in our menu.

Do you deliver?

Yes. Minnesota Cottage Food laws dictate that producers (like us at Blue Canary Bakery) must sell and deliver food directly to the ultimate consumer. This means that I can deliver food to customers or arrange for pickup from our location in Saint Paul, though pickup is only available for some (not all) products.

Delivery fees are based on distance from our location in Saint Paul, shown below.

  • 0-10 miles: $5 per delivery (FREE over $50)

  • 10-20 miles: $8 per delivery (FREE over $75)

  • 20-30 miles: $10 per delivery (FREE over $100)

We are unable to deliver outside of Minnesota or 30 miles beyond our location.

I'm looking to order a wedding cake but I don't know what flavor to choose! 
Do you offer sampler packs for potential wedding customers?

Yes! We typically offer sampler packs as six-packs of cupcakes with up to three cake-frosting combinations. Reach out to us via email or through our quote system if you're interested in a sampler pack.

Do you decorate with fondant?

No. We are a buttercream shop! Though we use fondant for cake toppers and other decorative elements.

How far in advance should I order my cake?

There's no such thing as "too early"! At least a week's notice is preferred. If you want to be sure your date is available, the sooner you place your request, the better. While we always strive to make our customers happy and have been able to turn cakes around within a couple of days, we also book up quickly and have had to turn down requests that we would have loved to make but came with too short of notice.
