Frequently Asked Questions

Find the Answers Here

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes. Blue Canary Bakery accepts multiple forms of payment including cash, Venmo transfers, and credit/debit card either at point of sale via Square or online with Wix payments. If you would like to pay online with a credit or debit card, please let us know so we can send you an invoice and make the credit/debit payment option available to you.

How does the cupcake subscription work?

We offer three types of membership (month-to-month, 6-month subscriptions, and 12-month subscriptions) at two different quantities: one dozen or a four-pack of cupcakes. Each come with two flavors each month; some are old favorites and some are new, experimental flavors (we love feedback on these!).

You can order for yourself, a friend, a business, or whomever! Just make sure the delivery address is within 30 miles of our Saint Paul location in Cathedral Hill. Customers are billed monthly. We require an adult be present to accept delivery and work with customers to find workable delivery times.

The club is delivery-only for now, with deliveries on the second Sunday of the month. If that date doesn't work for you, please contact us via email. We are always happy to work with customers if we can accommodate the request(s).

Cancellation varies by membership type. Month-to-month enables easy cancellation--just please do so one week out from delivery or sooner or you may incur a cancellation fee. 6- and 12-month options may incur a cancellation fee if cancelled before the subscription is scheduled to end.

Do you offer gluten-free and vegan options?

Yes. Check out our menu for detailed offerings. At present, the vegan options are quite limited, but our menu is constantly evolving. Feel free to make a custom vegan or gluten-free request if you have something in mind and you don't see it on the menu.

Do you charge more for gluten-free or vegan options?

No. There is no upcharge simply for a flavor being gluten-free or vegan-friendly. Some cake flavors and dessert offerings cost more than others, but not exclusively gluten-free and vegan options. The prices are reflected in our menu.

Do you deliver?

Yes. Minnesota Cottage Food laws dictate that producers (like us at Blue Canary Bakery) must sell and deliver food directly to the ultimate consumer. This means that I can deliver food to customers or arrange for pickup from our location in Saint Paul, though pickup is only available for some (not all) products.

Delivery fees are based on distance from our location in Saint Paul, shown below.

  • 0-10 miles: $5 per delivery (FREE over $50)

  • 10-20 miles: $8 per delivery (FREE over $75)

  • 20-30 miles: $10 per delivery (FREE over $100)

We are unable to deliver outside of Minnesota or 30 miles beyond our location.

Do you decorate with fondant?

No. We are a buttercream shop! Though we will use fondant for cake toppers and minor details.
